The 火博体育大学 Faculty Initiative Grant Program was established to encourage
significant scholarly, curricular, and pedagogical efforts beyond what is funded through
教师发展补助金. In the spring, the FDC will make up to five awards of

the work accomplished, as well as an expense report, is due at the close of that period.

2. Attach a typed statement of up to five pages, double-spaced, describing the 项目 in language understandable to the non-specialist. Include information concerning
(a) the significance of the 项目,
(b)目标;
(c) your background and previous research experience as it applies to the goals of

(d) a protocol/timetable describing how the 项目 will be accomplished and setting
the time period of the grant, and
(e) plans for publication of 项目 results.
3. Supply current curriculum vitae.
4. Attach a one- to two-page budget which itemizes the expenses of the 项目, including
price quotations for major items such as equipment, travel, etc. 教师倡议
Grant may not be used for personal compensation or for honoraria. 合同费用

and external, that are being used in this 项目 or have been requested for this

5. Failure to provide required materials will disqualify the candidate from consideration
for a Faculty Initiative Grant.
6. A Final Report should be submitted to the Office of the DOF/VPAA within one month
of the end of the grant period. Failure to do so may result in advances being treated
as taxable income and will result in disqualification from future grant opportunities.
7. Any equipment funded by Skidmore for the support of this grant becomes the property
of Skidmore and must be returned to The 学院院长’s Office within three
months after the end of the 项目.
8. Proposals that involve human subjects or the use of human tissues are subject
to the requirements of the College’s Institutional Review Board (IRB). IRB的指导方针,

of the College’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). IACUC指南

are not a prerequisite to submitting a Faculty Initiative Grant but are required prior
to the commencement of the research.
