Acceptance Statistics

For the last five years of complete data (2017-2021 application cycles), we have the following data for admission to medical schools, veterinary medicine programs, and dental schools. It is important to note, HPAC supports all students who apply. 

Overall, 84% of the Skidmore students who applied to medical schools, veterinary medicine programs, or dental schools got into at least one program they applied to (on the first attempt, it was 61%). For those accepted, the mean Skidmore GPA was 3.59 and the median was 3.63 with a standard deviation of 0.26.

  • For Medical schools in particular: 82% of Skidmore students who applied were accepted to at least one program (62% on their first attempt). Of those accepted to at least one program:
    • Mean Skidmore GPA 3.62, median GPA 3.66, standard deviation of 0.26, with a range of 2.85-4.0
    • Mean MCAT score 509, median 511, standard deviation of 7, with a range of 492-526
        • CPFBS: 127, 127, ± 2, range: 121-132
        • CARS: 127, 127, ± 2, range: 122-131
        • BBFLS: 128, 127, ± 2, range: 122-132
        • PSBFB: 128, 128, ± 2, range: 123-131

Based on 2022 AAMC Facts, the overall profile of matriculating students (41.5% of those that applied) into medical schools was as follows:

  • Mean overall GPA 3.75 ± 0.24
  • Mean overall MCAT 511.9 ± 6.7
      • CPFBS: 127.9 ± 2.2
      • CARS: 126.9 ± 2.4
      • BBFLS: 128.2 ± 2.1
      • PSBFB: 128.9 ± 2.0

Nationally, Overall Acceptance by MCAT Score and Overall GPA, 2020-2023, AAMC Data
